Modern protective and industrial coatings require advanced, robust technologies. Arkema offers a wide range of liquid resins for solvent-borne coatings designed to address the issues you encounter every day – including compliance with sustainability requirements, performance in extreme conditions, enhanced durability and providing value for your customers.
Additionally, solvent-borne resins bring a range of high performance attributes to architectural coatings, offering enhanced durability and value across a range of applications.
We offer versatile solutions for your high demand applications that can help you develop the best possible coatings for your customers.
The right ingredient for your formulation!
Using acrylic resins from Arkema, you can formulate high-quality coatings with better corrosion resistance, good weatherability, aesthetics and, of course, long-lasting adhesion to a range of substrates.
We offer very high solids acrylic, conventional solids acrylic, carboxyl non-isocyanate acrylic, epoxy hardener non-isocyanate acrylic, thermoplastic acrylic and thermoset acrylic technologies.
A mix of value and performance!
Thanks to our incredibly versatile alkyd technology platform, we offer resins that can help you achieve a wide range of performance attributes, including hardness, gloss, fast drying, anticorrosion properties, direct-to-metal application and much more.
Our product line includes long, medium and short oil alkyds, modified alkyds (urethane-, silicone-, epoxy-, phenolic-, acrylated-, styrenated-, polyamide-, urea-urethane…), thixotropic alkyds, water-reducible alkyds, and waterborne alkyds.
A versatile solution!
Polyester resins provide good chemical resistance, flexibility and exterior durability across a wide range of industrial applications, including coil, appliance, office furniture and maintenance. Our product line includes: polyester polyol, Synolac® acrylic modified polyester and oil-free polyester.

High-performance curing agents for industrial coatings!
We offer a range of reactive polyamides for use as curing agents in epoxy-based industrial coatings. They offer improved flexibility, excellent corrosion resistance and color stability. After curing, coatings made with these products can exhibit good bonding properties, mechanical strength and chemical resistance.
Reactive polyamides are lower-molecular-weight products from the condensation of dimer acid and one of the higher ethyleneamines known as diethylenetriamine (DETA), triethylenetetramine (TETA). Their mid-molecule amine groups provide reactive sites for cross-linking interactions with epoxy resin molecules.

Improved performance in printing inks!
Our thermoplastic polyamides are ideal for use in flexographic and rotogravure printing inks as well as hotmelt adhesives. They present good adherence to substrates, high gloss, solubility in solvents, pigment wetting, flexibility and block resistance.
Thermoplastic polyamides have molecular-weight in the 2,000-15,0000 range and are produced by the reaction of dimer acid diamines such as ethylenediamine.
Enhance your polyurethane formulations!
We offer a range of polyester polyols for use in formulating polyurethane composites.
For sealants, polyurethanes made with polyester resin are typically tough and waterproof. They are ideal for use in window sealants, joints, electrical and electronic components, etc.
In elastomeric applications, polyurethane made with polyester resin exhibits excellent durability, abrasion, chemical and oil resistance properties. It is used for rollers, belts for carrying operations, wheels for rollerblades, hospital trolleys, rollers for printing processes and under-the-hood automotive.
Our standard polyester polyols are based on different types of acids and glycols. They are mainly used in “2k systems” combined with isocyanates like MDI and/or TDI to make polyurethane. Other uses are in combination with melamines, acrylates, epoxy, etc. These technologies use few raw materials and are 98% solvent free, creating a safter work environment.
MEG, BDO, and MEG/BDO based polyester polyols are commonly used.
